Introducing many innovations in hernia and laparoscopic surgery as an enthusiastic surgeon, Dr. A. Ziya Anadol was born in Samsun in 1967.

After graduating from Samsun Anatolian High School (Samsun College), he completed his medical education in Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1991. He completed his specialty education between 1991-1997 at Gazi University Faculty of Medicine, Department of General Surgery. He completed his military service at Siirt 30 Bed Mobile Surgery Hospital between 1998-1999. Dr. Anadol also completed his PhD on Medical Education.

Dr. Anadol is married and has a daughter. He also owns a cat and a dog.

Academic life

 

He worked as a lecturer at Gazi University Faculty of Medicine General Surgery Department between 1997-2003. Dr. Anadol was appointed as Assistant Professor at Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Medicine, Department of General Surgery in 2003, and as Associate Professor at Gazi University, where he returned in 2006. He became a Professor in Gazi University Faculty of Medicine in 2012, where he currently works.

He was elected as the President of Ankara Surgical Association for the period of 2012-2014. Dr. Anadol attaches great importance to sharing and developing his knowledge, experience and opinions in the surgical arena in many scientific meetings, and continues to work particularly on hernia and laparoscopic surgery.

 

International Experience

 

Dr. Anadol worked in New York Mount Sinai Medical Center in 2000 to receive training on liver, biliary tract and pancreatic surgery. In 2009, he worked at Cleveland Clinic Ohio on upper gastrointestinal surgery, morbid obesity, robotic surgery, and laparoscopic liver surgery.

In 2018, he participated in workshops and operations with Salvador Morales and his team in Hospital Virgen del Rocío Seville in Spain, on open and laparoscopic surgical techniques for abdominal wall reconstruction, inguinal hernias and ventral hernias.
